BUSES NOWHERE NEAR THE ARCH
"Buses Nowhere Near The Arch #38" a family-oriented Volkswagen camping weekend will be held rain or shine over the long Labor Day holiday weekend, September 1, 2, 3, & 4, 2023. We will gather again at the "group use" campground at Indian Creek Recreation Area. This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground is located on 18,000 acre Mark Twain Lake, about 30 miles southwest of historic
Hannibal, Missouri. This is a beautiful, federally-run campground with paved roads and pads and nice facilities.
Most conveniences are available in nearby Monroe City or Hannibal.
The campground can accommodate about 100 camping vehicles very comfortably and we've had as many as 151 vehicles camping out one year. All campsites are first come, first serve. Everyone sets up in a rather ramdom fashion leaving the central road open. The campground is surrounded by Mark Twain Lake on three sides with paths to the lakeshore from the campground. About a half mile away from your campsite, is a nice boat ramp for more fishing, boating and water access.
